The Flint Hills Wisdom Keepers Community Council hosts the Elders Open Forum in Kansas with Native American Elders from the United States and Canada striving to provide an experiential learning environment through the sharing of Native American wisdom and teaching to people of all cultures, creeds and colors. The importance of the conference is the coming together of many different tribal beliefs represented by each of our Beloved Elders and their interaction with each other. New experiences [including a Sacred Drum workshop & more], original wisdom from each Elder, the joy, peace & beauty of the Sacred Ground the conference is held upon, contact with the tribal Elders in small groups for one-on-one interactions these experiences allow you to take these unique teachings of how we are all connected and a new understanding of this life home with you to share with your family and friends. Through this experience, which happens once a year the last weekend of April, the Council seeks to provide an open, community-based environment for the sharing of knowledge, wisdom and experience aimed at increasing understanding of community, honor for our Elders, each other and to assist with the healing of Mother Earth. Honor and respect for individuality, community, and ancient wisdom are essential elements in our quest to bring enlightenment, inner peace and a heightened sense of purpose to all who belong to our Community.

A student diversity group which is open to all students in grades 8 through 12. Monthly meetings provide an open forum to discuss student issues including diversity awareness. The development of student leadership and facilitator skills is encouraged.
