Through its "College Behind Bars" program, Partakers affords prisoners in 6 Massachusetts state prisons the second chance they deserve to secure a college education and a greater chance for success when re-entering society (we partner with Boston University's "Prison Education Program"). Our volunteers serve as academic mentors to prisoners and also support them in gaining skills to help as they transition back into society. With a college degree, the recidivism rate drops exponentially and public safety becomes a far greater reality. Our program is a proven form of rehabilitation. |
